If location is of the utmost importance and top of your ‘wish list’ then you must view this individual detached property in Old Down. We are delighted to bring to the market Clova Cottage, built in 1985 to a high standard and blessed with a host of character features, creating a lovely home with a layout that is flexible and offers an opportunity for a dependant relative.
Approached via a sweeping driveway which has ample space for a number of vehicles, the property nestles neatly into its level plot, the frontage is softened by hedging and established trees and shrubs. A welcoming entrance hall filled with natural light and features a half galleried landing giving a sense of space and openness. The modern kitchen/breakfast room offers a range of wall and base units, some integrated appliances and access to the rear garden. The sitting room features sliding patio doors to the garden, a wood burner for those chillier evenings and a separate dining room with a great view across the garden. A double bedroom on the ground floor with en suite facilities would make a wonderful guest room or dependant relative opportunity. On the first floor the half galleried landing opens onto the family bathroom and three further good sized bedrooms.
The rear garden is fully enclosed and mainly laid to lawn with paved patios and fully stocked established borders. The double garage features power and light. Further benefits of this individual property include gas central heating and a leisurely stroll to ‘The Fox’, a local favourite public house and a bus route is nearby if needed. We would welcome the opportunity to show you all this well presented home has on offer and look forward to meeting you.
Old Down is a hamlet in South Gloucestershire, near the larger villages of Olveston and Tockington and a mile west of Alveston. A tourist attraction called Old Down Country Park now occupies the country house in the village, and there is also a pub, The Fox, as well as several sporting facilities (a cricket club, football pitch and a bowling green). Just a short car journey from the Market town of Thornbury with its pretty historic high street, modern shopping centre (St Mary's Centre), two large supermarkets and many smaller independent shops. There are excellent Junior and Senior Schools which are highly regarded. We have been proud winners of both Thornbury in Bloom and Britain in Bloom. A farmers market is held monthly, and the food fair is always welcomed. There are several well regarded restaurants including one at Thornbury Castle and Ronnie's of Thornbury.. An annual Carnival is eagerly awaited by all, and there is an active musical theatre group, flower clubs, golf course, sports centre and walking groups. Thornbury offers easy access to both the M4 and the M5, Aztec West, Wales & The Cribbs Causeway
